Ellen Meets Mom of Quadruplets from Viral Video!
Posted on January 31, 2017.
After seeing a viral video of Ashley, mom to quadruplets, hiding in her pantry for a rare moment alone while snacking on Twizzlers and relishing her moment to herself, Ellen just had to meet this family in person. So Ashley, her husband, and their four (!) 2-year-old girls took a trip to visit Ellen. Ashley was extremely upbeat despite what sounds like a grueling routine, but it’s easy to see why she was in such good spirits once the four little bundles of joy were brought out! Well, more like ran out, and took over the stage, walking around every which way while Ellen attempted to reign in the chaos!
It wouldn’t be Ellen if she didn’t have a couple surprises up her sleeve, and this was no exception. She first brought out a portable pantry for Ashley, complete with closing doors and space for her Twizzlers, so she can escape whenever she needs to! Then came the real surprise… Ellen revealed that the entire family would be going on vacation to Hawaii! How’s that for a getaway from a daily routine?

There’s no way to escape the magic of “Lala Land,” a Hollywood musical starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone that has taken the box office by storm. Two struggling artists meet and fall in love, but as they make strides in their careers, waves are made in how to adjust their relationship to their changing realities. That’s where the magic comes in… enter singing and dancing, all with Los Angeles as the backdrop to this fantastical show.
And people have already taken note to this whirlwind of this movie. It’s already won 6 Golden Globe awards, and it is nominated for an astonishing 14 awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Director, to name a few. Our advice? Definitely catch this movie while it’s still in theaters to get in on the magic, and don’t forget to tune in to the Academy Awards on February 26th to see how Lala Land and the other great flicks of the year do!
Golden Globes Fashion 2017
Posted on January 19, 2017.
Another year of an amazing Golden Globe Awards, and of course, along with that comes amazing celeb fashion! Here’s our rundown of 2017’s best dressed at the awards show:
-Emma Stone looked stunning in silver, as she wore a custom –designed Valentino gown with a deep-V neckline and dreamy silver stars placed along the bodice of the dress. Her Tiffany’s diamond necklace perfectly completed her look.
-Emily Ratajkowski looked like a dream in a pale yellow Reem Acra gown with crazy slits and a sparkly silver panel holding the whole thing together. She completely nailed her look, complete with jewels by H. Stearn.
-Sofia Vergara all but stole the show in her embroidered gold Zuhair Murad dress, which, although was long and had long sleeves, still showed a little skin via sheer material and shoulder cut-outs, and the dress hugged her body perfectly. In short: she looked fab.
There were too many other fashion stars to mention here, but it was certainly a fashionable feast for the eyes!
The Obamas Sign Off
Posted on January 17, 2017.
On Tuesday night, President Barack Obama gave his farewell speech, and it was as beautiful, classy, and inspiring as you would imagine it to be. He touched on how it is the duty of all of us, as citizens, to progress towards whatever changes we believe in, as that is how he got his start in politics, many years ago. In the wake of a very divisive presidential election, he also encouraged us to stand together despite our differences. But perhaps the sweetest part of this epic speech was his shout-out to his wife, Michelle, whom he called his “best friend,” as well as his daughters, and last but certainly not least, vice-president Joe Biden. It was inspiring and emotional, and truly a historic moment in U.S. history.
Just as amazing was Michelle Obama’s farewell speech, which she gave the previous Friday. She strongly encouraged young people to believe in themselves and stay focused, and to know that they belong. She also brought up the importance of getting a good education, noting that she and Barack had set out on their political journey with their educations and the simple belief that they could do anything they put their mind to. She ended with saying, “I hope I’ve made you proud,” and she has indeed.
Next up is Donald Trump getting inaugurated on January 20th… stay tuned! But we’re crossing our fingers that this isn’t the end of Obama/Biden memes… those will never get old!
New Year, New You: Resolution Tips
Posted on January 12, 2017.
Here we are in January again, that lovely time of year when we resolve to make all kinds of lifestyle changes in hopes of bettering ourselves. There’s something about a brand new year that brings so much promise, and you can certainly fulfill any promises to yourself that you set out to fulfill. Here are a couple ideas for setting resolutions that won’t sabotage themselves before you get to February.
-Instead of resolving to lose weight, resolve to get healthy. Your weight is just a number on the scale, while your health encompasses all aspects of your being. Focus on eating healthier foods and finding a type of exercise that suits you, rather than lowering a number that is subject to change for a variety of reasons.
-Instead of resolving to buy things, resolve to pay off debt and save. Sure, we all need to splurge once in a while (especially on clothes, since we wear clothes every day), but if splurging is all you do, then you will always have debt hanging over you. Just pay off your bills rather than racking up interest on them once and for all, and while you’re at it, put a little money away, in case of emergency.
-If you’ve resolved to be more social, do it face to face, rather than via social media. In the era of social media, just a couple taps on your phone, and you’ve wished an old friend a happy birthday. Here’s an idea, give that friend a call with your wishes. Or better yet, make plans to see them in person. Once you’re hearing your friend’s voice, or finally meeting up with them, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do this sooner.
Most importantly, whatever decisions you make, make sure they come from your gut, and are true to you. As long as you’re progressing into who you truly want to be, there’s no way you can fail. Happy New
Coachella 2017, Featuring Beyonce!
Posted on January 10, 2017.
It’s hard to even believe 2017 is finally here, but looking ahead to spring, Coachella has announced their headliners, and it will be quite a show. The yearly music festival, taking place in Indio, California, will be a two-weekend event taking place on the weekends of April 14th and April 21st.
Now, to the good stuff. There are plenty of big names headlining the event, like Radiohead, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, and Lorde (whose 2nd album is FINALLY due to come out this year). But undoubtedly, there is no bigger act set to take the Coachella stage than the one and only Beyonce.
Yep, you read that correctly. Queen Bee will headline both Saturday nights of the festival. But don’t get too excited, as tickets sold out in 3 hours! So if you aren’t one of the lucky few to have bought this coveted ticket right away, you may not get to see this sure-to-be epic performance (at least not in person).
Whether you catch it on YouTube or see it live, this will definitely be a show not to be missed!
Best Workouts in 2017!
Posted on January 5, 2017.
Right now, like many of you, we’re all, new year, new me (and we mean it!). This is the time of year people resolve to start healthier habits of all sorts. Whether that means watching what you eat, or getting more sleep, we all have our own mission in 2017. For many of us, our resolutions center around our workout regimen, so we’ve scouted out the top upcoming workouts of the year to get you in tip-top shape this year:
-HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) are, well, a hit going into the New Year. This type of workout simply involves alternating the intensity of your workout between high intensity and low intensity. This can involve anything from spin class to alternating between running and jogging. This is a proven way to burn more calories than remaining at the same pace during the same workout. In the new year, HIIT workout are going underwater, in the form of circuit classes and resistance performed underwater.
-Mind & body are coming together in harmony, as yoga and meditation close the gap and core fusion workouts rise up in popularity. While mindfulness take more of a priority in our lives, a focus on breathing and working from the core is also rising in popularity. Moonlight & candlelight yoga are also becoming big, as we are becoming more aware of ourselves in this crazy busy world.
-Workout apps are at craze level. At a time when we can do anything from our phones, from banking to making doctor appointments, this was just a natural next step. On-demand workout videos that you can view from your phone (aka anywhere) make it easier to create a regimen even if your lifestyle is all over the place. Whatever your workout, there’s definitely an app for that.
Cheers to a new all of us!
