Late Summer Florals
Posted on August 17, 2017.
We are in the home stretch of summer, and it’s time to say goodbye to our favorite summer fashions for now. That’s right, get ready to set aside your favorite jean shorts, flowy crochet dresses, and crop tops. To ease you into fall, we’ve selected some floral pieces that are slightly more sophisticated than the summer florals you’ve been rocking, but still show lots of shoulder! These pieces are a little darker, and a little more subtle than summer florals, and they will get you psyched for fall fashion, which, let’s admit, is something we all look forward to (knee-high suede boots, anyone?). Here are our favorite florals, just in at Blush:
-Our Off The Shoulder Romper is super elegant and has a gorgeous, oversize floral pattern. This piece shows full shoulder, and features a delicate self-tie neckline with a key-hole cut out. The long bell sleeves are a perfect contrast to the short length of the romper, making this piece sophisticated enough for a night out – simply add a tall pair of stilettos.
-Our Off The Shoulder Dress has the perfect floral print, in subtle shades of pink and yellow. This dress features a smocked chest and fabulous layered bell sleeves, making it a fall must-have for those early September days when you long to show off your sun-kissed shoulders, but also want to look seasonally appropriate! Try this dress with a dangly pair of earrings.
-Try pairing our matching Off The Shoulder Crop Top with our Flowy Shorts for a sweet look. Featuring an adorable mini flower print, this smocked top pairs perfectly with our flared shorts of the same pattern. This is the perfect outfit for late-summer gatherings, and the best part is, you can pair both the top and bottom with other pieces.
We hope you’re having the best summer! Xoxo Blush
Back To School Must-Haves
Posted on August 11, 2017.
Summer is sadly coming to an end, and you know what that means: school is about to start! That’s not all bad news, though; it means you get to start doing some serious shopping for your back to school wardrobe! Everyone knows that this is the most important time of the year to come back with a bang, so we’ve picked a couple back to school essentials that are must-haves for ringing in the school year:
-What is the beginning of the school year without a denim jacket? We don’t even want to know. That’s why you’ve gotta check out our Shark Bite Jacket by Blank NYC. It features really cute buttons and pockets, but the kicker is the adorable frayed bottom hem, with some areas cut out slightly higher than others, making for an edgy twist to an old favorite.
-Classic button downs are never a fail, and we’ve got lots of them to satisfy your preppy girl look this fall. Whether you go for our Button Down Blouse (a pretty light blue with white stripes), our Short Sleeve Button Down (a white button down with super-cute pinned sleeves), or our Pocket Button Down (a plaid piece, if you’re feeling a little bit grunge), you can’t lose with these classics. We’d recommend getting them all, and mixing & matching your heart out!
-For an irresistibly casual-comfy look, check out our olive Cargo Pants. Almost a sweatpant, but with pocket detailing and elastic at the bottom hems, these pants are as dressed up (or as dressed down) as you want them to be. You can mix and match these babies with anything, which definitely qualifies them as essentials in our book.
Head on over to our website, or any of our 6 Miami locations, to snag these looks before they’re all gone!
DIY Special: Make A Hat Wall
Posted on August 10, 2017.
Looking to add some fashionable feng shui to your room, while also getting your accessories in order? Try a hat wall. Yep, arranging your hats on your wall is pure genius, because not only are hats most attractive to look at from the top angle and make for a nice wall arrangement, but they are also kind of an awkward size to put anywhere else!
Here’s how to start on your hat wall:
-Plan out how you’ll arrange your hats on your wall; we think varying the arrangement of colors and textures makes for a look that’s easier on the eyes.
-Nail some long nails into your wall. This is a functional as well as decorative wall, so long nails make best for grabbing your hats on the way out to complete your outfit.
-Keep the rest of the area around your hat wall minimally decorative. There’s already a lot going on here, so it’s best not to overwhelm that space in your room (or closet) by adding anything else crazy nearby.
-Use this as inspiration to treat yourself to some fab new hats!
Yep, that’s all it takes to create a fashion-forward wall, and keep your hats right at the tip of your fingers. You did it, girl!
Double Eclipse of the Heart

Leos, beware: August has some crazy things in store for you. With Leo being August’s predominant zodiac sign (running from August 1st to August 22nd), we want to be the first to give you the scoop on what to expect this month. First off, this month features two eclipses and a Mercury in retrograde, so hold on tight, because this month will be quite the ride.
The lunar eclipses will reveal that which you may have been able to avoid, or at least putting off revealing. Yep, that’s right, it is time for change, you lioness. And change is hard at first, but as you already know, it is necessary, and bound to leave you closer to the direction that you are meant to be going in. As for Mercury going into retrograde, we all know this to be code for, hot mess. Just stay cool. Don’t start new projects or jobs, sign off on anything expensive, etc. Use this crazy time as a moment just for you.
Let’s be clear, though, Leos: once you get through these astrologically trying times, things WILL come together, and you will be renewed and have more passion than ever for the things you do want to go through with. So just hang tight this month, and celebrate your new sense of clarity during the last week of August. At last!

Love drama? Love Colin Farrell? Then you will absolutely love “The Beguiled”, Sofia Coppola’s latest production, based on a book called “A Painted Devil.” Picture this: an all-girl’s school during the Civil War, finding a super-hot wounded soldier and bringing him back to the school to protect him while he recovers. Of course, this heats things up within the school, as the girls fight for his attention. “Beguiled” means enchanted, and enchanted these ladies are.
Things get a little crazy when he gets involved with a couple of the girls, as you can imagine (because you know how us girls can get, especially when someone as hot as Colin Farrell is involved). Starring Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, and Elle Fanning, this sensual thriller turns dark as jealousy rears its ugly head.
Premiering at the Cannes Film Festival, this film is in theaters now, and has received great reviews. If for no other reason, go see this movie to check out the awesome Civil War-era fashions worn by Hollywood’s leading ladies (and to see Colin Farrell, of course).

Things To Do On A Rainy Day
Posted on June 30, 2017.
With the rainy season upon us here in Miami, our weather kinda sucks (while most of the rest of the U.S. is finally getting to enjoy the outdoors and the warmth of summer). Short of leaving the state, there are plenty of ways to enjoy yourself despite the suffocating humidity and daily torrential downpours. Don’t be taken hostage by the weather – here is our list of our favorite local activities for the endless rainy days ahead of us.
-Movies! Catch the latest flicks that you couldn’t be bothered to see when the sun was out and you were working on your tan. Next on our queue is Wonder Woman, Rough Night, and the latest Transformers flick. Don’t forget the popcorn! Or if you’re working on your summer body, sneak in some fresh fruit.
-Reading. We all love to bring a good book to the beach, but that usually goes out the window when the wine coolers and speakers are brought out. Now is the time to actually read them! Whether curled up on your couch (so cozy), or at a local bookstore or coffee shop, it’s a great time to catch up on that book you’ve been meaning to read forever.
-Shopping is never a bad call, but maybe this weather is the perfect time to finally check out Sawgrass Mills, one of the largest shopping malls in the country, with outlets providing big time discounts. There are definitely enough malls throughout Miami to spend a good, quality day of shopping while it rains and thunders outside.
-Take a class. Within the Miami area, you can find everything from cooking classes, to jewelry classes, and not to mention the myriad of exercise classes available, this is the time to learn about whatever it is you’ve been putting off during our fantastic, nearly year-round weather.
-Check out a museum. Miami is becoming quite the cultural mecca. With not one, but two museums opening up within the past five years, it’s finally your calling to check out PAMM (Perez Art Musuem of Miami), and the Frost Museum of Science (which boasts a very cool planetarium). Wandering around these two new awesome additions to our city is the perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon, if you ask us.

Stripes are coming back in a major way this summer, and we are super stoked to have some of this awesome print among latest arrivals. Always flattering, stripes are usually associated with the nautical trend for summer. But our latest pieces prove there are many ways to wear this print. Here are our top 3 picks from our latest offerings:
-Off The Shoulder Romper: This bombshell piece can be worn day or night, and features an off-the-shoulder neckline and little ruffles along the bottom hem. The stripes are pretty and patterned; this soft piece would look great with espadrilles.
-Crop Top & Wide Leg Pant Set: If you want stripes done the Miami way, this is your go-to set. Featuring a cute crop top with a lace-up back and wide-leg, high-waisted pants, this set shows
just a touch of skin while staying classy, definitely due to the soft-blue striped print.
-Pocket Button Down: This piece is perfectly versatile; wear it as a cover-up to the beach, or with a pair of summer skinny jeans. Light and airy, this button down has a chest pocket with reverse stripes, to add just a touch of flair to a summer classic.
Cute Summer Recipe: Honey-Sweetened Limeade
Posted on June 19, 2017.
Nothing quenches thirst quite like a yummy, fruity cocktail (minus the alcohol) in the summer. And do we ever have the perfect cocktail for you! Whether chatting with your bestie over a summer afternoon drink, or hosting a dinner party, this drink captures summer to a T. Yep, Honey-Sweetened Limeade With Strawberries & Lime is a fun twist on the lemonade you remember from your younger summer days. Between the light sweetness of the strawberries, the distinct flavor of basil, and irresistible honey (which is also extremely healthy for you and packed with antioxidants), this is one summer drink you don’t want to miss! Here is the recipe (makes 6-8 drinks):
-1 cup honey
-12-16 medium size fresh limes (1 will be used as garnish)
-1 cup strawberries, sliced (some as garnish)
-1/4 cup of basil, chopped (some as garnish)
To make the honey-sweetened simple syrup
-Place honey and 1 1/2 cups of water in a small saucepan. Cook until honey is completely dissolved. Set aside and let it cool.
-Grate 3 limes and place the grated pieces in the saucepan with the dissolved honey.
-Squeeze the juice of the limes. You should have at least one cup of lime juice.
To make the limeade
-Place the honey mixture and lime juice in a pitcher. Add in sliced strawberries and chopped basil.
-Add in 5 cups of cold water and give it a good stir. Place it in the fridge to cool for at least 2 hours.
-When ready to serve, pour limeade into glasses filled with ice and garnish with chunks of strawberries and fresh basil leaves.
Voila! There you have it, yummy homemade honey limeade! Enjoy!
